Marahlago is the premier designer and manufacturer of larimar jewelry worldwide and uses the finest quality of Larimar available. Only the top 3% of larimar gems are used once they have been graded according to their colors, patterns, luminosity and inclusions.
Larimar is a very rare gemstone, found in only one place in the world - approximately ½ square mile - in the mountains above Baoruco in the Dominican Republic. It is a volcanic stone, the result of volcanic activity that occurred millions of years ago. It has the unique volcanic blue coloration. Larimar's beautiful colors mirror the blue and white shades of the ocean and sky. No two stones are alike; each piece is unique, with its own natural beauty. Its colorations vary from white, light-blue, green-blue to deep blue, from translucent to dark.
Larimar was named by Miguel Mendez after his daughter, Larissa combined with the Spanish word for the sea, “mar” – Larimar.
The local people are central to everything Marahlago does and larimar is an enormous source of pride for them. By purchasing a piece of Marahlago, you are not just getting a beautiful piece of jewelry but you are directly supporting entire villages surrounding the mine in Dominican Republic.
All Marahlago pieces includes the trademark of a flower which guarantees its authenticity and has a 3 year warranty against manufacturing defects.
The Marahlago collection features larimar and sterling silver creations and additional pieces of the collection include accent gemstones such as blue topaz, freshwater pearls, pink sapphire, white topaz, opal and mother of pearl.
